March 2021 – Zondervan, a division of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, today announced the NIV Biblical Theology Study Bible, has sold more than 100,000 copies across all formats.
The NIV Biblical Theology Study Bible was edited by Dr. D.A. Carson, research professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and is full of robust study features that allow readers to unpack God’s story. It enables readers to ponder the individual stories and themes of Scripture while observing how they all fit together in God’s grand biblical narrative. With three articles introducing biblical theology and 25 articles unpacking key themes of Scripture, the NIV Biblical Theology Study Bible equips readers to follow the progressive unfolding of God’s story.
The NIV Biblical Theology Study Bible has been a part of Zondervan’s publishing program since 2015, where it was originally published as the NIV Zondervan Study Bible. That edition sold more than 100,000 copies before being updated in 2018. In that year, the Bible was expertly re-designed in Zondervan’s exclusive NIV Comfort Print® typeface and re-named to its current title – the NIV Biblical Theology Study Bible. Now the NIV Biblical Theology Study Bible has also crossed the 100,000-unit mark, bringing its total impact to more than 200,000 lives impacted through this information, accessible study note system.
“We are thrilled to see the impact of this important study Bible, the only one focusing on biblical theology throughout and across the Scriptures,” says Melinda Bouma, vice president and publisher of Bibles for Zondervan. “The uniqueness and the rich content make it helpful for people around the world, and it is exciting to know that it has served more than 100,000 people in English and will soon serve readers in Spanish and Portuguese as well. A Portuguese edition is being published by Thomas Nelson Brazil this fall, and a Spanish edition publishes from Vida Bibles in Spring 2022.”
The NIV Biblical Theology Study Bible uses the New International Version (NIV), which is the most widely read Bible translation in contemporary English and is trusted for its combination of accuracy, readability, and beauty.
